Linear antennas sends out signals that are only good for long distances and are extremely prone to multi-path interference (especially in places with lots of objects) while ‘Clover' (circular) antennas are much more interference friendly at close ranges, which is why most higher end goggles are either modular or come with clover antennas.

You don't have the drone in the line of sight, so it might happen that you fly the drone into an object while flying sideways, and that is why it is always a good idea to have someone by your side to have the drone in the line of sight while you fly so that he/she can warn you.
